Jfry commented on lazlo's blog post GOP blocks Senate repeal of oil subsidies costing taxpayers untold BILLIONS of dollars.

How is letting companies keep THEIR money wasting taxpayer's money? It's my understanding these "subsidies" are standard business type tax deductions. Not the Government sending checks out to oil companies. ?

The article you linked to says the measure would raise 2.4 billion dollars a year. Half of that would be redistributed to other pet projects and half would be used to lower debt. The Federal Government is spending about 11 billion a day. So... All this hoopla over about 2 hours worth of spending by the Federal Government. :-/

And I have seen the numbers go both ways, but either way you slice it, The government makes about as much off the sale of a gallon of gasoline as the oil companies do.

Exxon Mobile "The?biggest?offender" makes a profit of 9%. Hardly a "killing". Look it up yourself:?http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ks?s=XOM

The Democrats are pulling your chain to get you all worked. This "Class?Warfare" crap is pathetic.?
