A safe place for kids to play is a major stabilizing force in a neighborhood.? When that neighborhood has been beset by drugs, homelessness, and shootings on a seemingly persistent basis, a new park can be an oasis.? The renovation of Overtown?s Gibson Park is a major step in the restoration of the blighted neighborhood.? It?s a step.? Next, I think you?ve got to get the people to take ownership of it.
